Chapter 37 - The Sovereign’s Ledger

The moment the silver key clicked into place, the entire amphitheater of screens erupted from deep charcoal to a brilliant, pulsing crimson. Financial data streams cascaded down the curved glass walls—billions of dollars in corporate shares, real estate holdings, and clandestine political funds shifting automatically across Swiss, Cayman, and Zurich accounts.

A synthetic, calm AI voice chimed through the subterranean chamber: *Biometric verification complete. Welcome, Chairwoman Khloe Vance.*

Eleanor let out a long, slow breath, leaning heavily on her cane as a triumphant smile touched the corners of her mouth. "It is done," she murmured. "The charter is rewritten. Every asset previously controlled by the male line of the Vance cartel is now legally bound to your sole signature. Viktor has nothing."

Khloe didn't smile. She watched the cascading lines of data reflect in her eyes, tracking the sudden, catastrophic drop in Viktor Vance’s corporate holdings as the system systematically froze his global accounts in real-time.

"And Gabriel?" Khloe asked, her voice dangerously calm, devoid of any warmth.

Eleanor paused, her smile faltering just slightly at the sharp edge in Khloe’s tone. "Gabriel is... a variable. Now that you hold the charter, he is legally subordinate to your authority. He answers to you, just as every other shareholder in the Zurich Trust does."

Before Eleanor could elaborate further, the deep, bass-heavy rumble of an explosion shook the vault walls. Plaster and dust rained down from the ceiling as emergency sirens wailed through the ventilation shafts.

"What was that?" Khloe demanded, spinning around to face the sealed vault door.

"Viktor," Eleanor hissed, her face draining of color as the lights in the amphitheater flickered and died, replaced by the harsh red glare of the emergency backup strobes. "He’s breached the secondary bulkhead with military-grade explosives."

Before they could reach the main console, the heavy steel vault door began to buckle inward under an immense, mechanical pressure. A searing line of blue light cut across the center of the metal as thermal charges began slicing through the hinges from the outside.

Inside the control room, the central console suddenly flashed a high-priority alert in bold, flashing letters: *BREACH DETECTED. INITIATING PURGE PROTOCOL.*
